Chicken Salad’s one of those foods, kind of like chile or smoked brisket, that every single person you ask has the best recipe for making it. Some use poached chicken, some use canned chicken with all kinds of other things thrown into the mix, but our version is made from grilled chicken breasts. We give it a kick of spice with our zingy Fredericksburg Farms Chipotle Pepper Sauce. So naturally, we think ours is actually the best!

Ingredients

Makes about 4 cups.
5 (6-ounce) grilled boneless, skinless chicken breasts, chopped
1 cup real mayonnaise
3 tablespoons Fredericksburg Farms Chipotle Pepper Sauce
½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/3 cup minced French shallots
2 green onions, chopped, including green tops
2 teaspoons minced fresh tarragon, or substitute
¾ teaspoon dried tarragon
½ cup chopped Blue Diamond brand smoked almonds
Sea salt or kosher salt as needed

Instructions

Combine all ingredients in a medium-sized bowl and stir to blend well. Season to taste with salt. Refrigerate until ready to use.
