Garden Harvest

Wow, in spite of the drought we have lots of tomatoes, peppers, okra, squash, beets and carrots ready to pick. We picked oodles of tomatoes last week and I have started canning. So far there are 12 quarts of tomatoes and 11 pints of sweet tomato relish on the shelves in our cellar storeroom where they join crates of red and Yukon gold potatoes and red and yellow onions we harvested earlier. We enjoyed a little rain last week and although it was less than a quarter inch it cooled things off a little and we are grateful for that.
