The tradition of making jalapeno jelly in the Hill Country dates way back.  It’s dandy for all sorts of things like slathering on your morning biscuit with lots of butter, or serving on lamb with a little mint stirred in.  But undoubtedly, the most popular use for jalapeno jelly is as a party munchie served over cream cheese.  Set out a plate of it with your favorite crackers or tortilla chips and watch it disappear in no time at all!

Ingredients

8 ounce block cream cheese, softened
1 jar Fredericksburg Farms Jalapeno Jelly
Your favorite crackers or corn tortilla chops
Fresh red jalapeno, fan sliced as garnish, if desired

Instructions

Place the block of cream cheese in the middle of a serving plate.  Pour the Fredericksburg Farms Jalapeno Jelly over the cream cheese, and add a spreading knife.  Garnish with fan-sliced red jalapeno, if desired, and serve with a basket of your favorite crackers or corn tortilla chips.

Jalapeno jelly poured over cream cheese is a Texas party staple. Our version is made from fresh jalapenos and red and green bell peppers, so it looks as festive as it tastes. You get a little heat with the sweet. We like to serve it as a dip for grilled bacon-wrapped shrimp and a glaze for grilled lamb chops too.
