Zinnias are some of my favorite garden flowers to grow from seed. They are inexpensive, so buy several packets and sprinkle them in a flower bed. Before long the little zinnias will have popped up and in a few weeks, you can have lots of bright colored happy blooms to cut and decorate your table. At Fredericksburg Farms we plant both zinnias and sunflowers in our vegetable garden so we can harvest veggies and flowers at the same time. Zinnias are also a great choice for kids to plant because they grow quickly and last through our hot summers. Spread some sunshine, go out and get your hands dirty, and sprinkle some happy thoughts!
