Back to School – Big Backpacks, Bigger Hearts, and Growing Feet
School is starting. I remember when school started after Labor Day and ended by Memorial Day. No longer, these days most schools start in mid-August and often run well into June each year.
Three of my four grandchildren are in elementary school, starting 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades this fall while the youngest is in pre-school several days a week. Back to school shopping for school supplies and new clothes has been done, with mamas wondering how the clothes bought in May are nearly two sizes too small and as for shoes…kid’s feet simply grow way too fast.
Please remember to be on the lookout for these excited kids with new backpacks, new clothes and big feet as you drive near schools. They may be too excited talking to their friends to look out for you.
