National Donut Day

This upcoming Friday is National Donut Day. This special day is celebrated annually on the first Friday in June to honor the Salvation Army “Donut Lassies” who served donuts to soldiers during World War I on the front lines in France. Donut Day began in 1938 as a fundraiser to help those in need during the Great Depression while honoring the women who had boosted the troops’ morale. At Fredericksburg Farms we have an air freshener that is a pink donut complete with sprinkles…it smells so good you will want to have a cup of coffee to go with it. Happy Donut day, y’all!
