Safety Yellow

It is August and for many of us with small businesses we are gearing up for fourth quarter production and sales. It is also a chance to finish up any projects that were started during the summer. At Fredericksburg Farms we have been working on improving our facilities with the addition of new bathrooms, improving and adding new air conditioning, and doing some general maintenance on our buildings and equipment. Lately some members of our team have been repainting the safety yellow paint on railings around the delivery dock and the cattleguards. The bright yellow paint reminded me of a time when I saw a car on the road in front of me get a safety yellow stripe painted on its side because it passed way too close to a highway striping vehicle. A prudent reminder to self…give all painters a wide berth and if you are the painter make sure you paint only what you intended. Smile and have a chuckle, it’s good for you!
