Having begun our business as a small wholesale plant nursery, with a staff of two, my husband and I, it has been an interesting journey to get to where we are today as a multi-line manufacturing and distribution company with a team of 30. We started the nursery with two major crops, geraniums and poinsettias, and we soon learned that we needed a broader variety of plants to offer throughout the year. Each new offering involved a learning curve which we navigated successfully. When we began our gourmet food line we again started with only a few products and then added variety and breadth. Currently we are adding new products to our candle and fragrance lines and our team members have been busy “sniffing” new scents and choosing colors and design while our marketing team comes up with label designs and promotional collateral. It is fun each day to see where we go with new ideas. Creativity stimulates brain cells, and challenges lead to collaboration as we meet them head on. I can’t imagine anything more exciting…retire…not now, I’m having too much fun.
