Summer Camp Fun

Summer Camp Tent

The trunk is packed with essentials for two weeks away from home, clothing, towels, sheets, blanket, sleeping bag, toiletries, riding helmet, boots, and a stack of pre-addressed envelopes just in case said camper feels inclined to write home. This was the scenario last weekend when granddaughter Amelia headed off to West Texas for summer camp. It made me smile to see my daughter and son-in-law pack the car, all the while making several last-minute trips back inside to get something that had been overlooked. As they departed for Fort Davis, I reflected on sending my own kiddos off to camp. After a flurry of preparations for the great send off the house gets quiet, and two weeks fly by as parents tackle things they have avoided…things planned to get done while the kids are away. Camp is a good thing…everyone needs a time to have two weeks of fun! Where do I sign up?
