Valentine’s Day

I stopped at the grocery store to look through the greeting card display for Valentine’s cards to send to my four grandchildren. Valentine’s Day must no longer be a big thing judging by the shelf space allotted to this celebration. The selection was very limited for cards intended for children. I spent some minutes looking for the cards…then I turned them over and looked at the prices. The lowest price was $5.99, and I was almost tempted to buy red card stock, glitter, and glue to make the cards myself. Note, I said almost. I then bought the much-anticipated candy to go with the cards, and it was reasonably priced. In the end, it is not about the cards or the candy. And, as I send these small gifts to my sweetest grands I hope they know how much they are loved by this one old grandmother. Happy Valentine’s Day!
