On the Road at the Balloon Fiesta

Fredericksburg Farms

Balloon Festival

It is Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta week and that is where we are headed with kids and grandkids in tow. Watching giant hot air balloons fill, grow large, and glow in the early morning darkness fills me with excitement and anticipation and I am in no way a kid except at heart! Ever since we came to the Fiesta 9 years ago, we talked about bringing our adult children to see and experience this fun event. We have waited long enough now that we get to bring grandchildren as well, and I can’t wait to see their faces as balloons in all shapes sizes and colors lift off in the crisp mountain air of Albuquerque, NM. Eating at the Frontier, seeing the petroglyphs, riding a tram up Sandia Peak and walking through Old Town won’t be too shabby either! Bring on the enchiladas verdes as we get to experience an annular solar eclipse as well!
