Birthdays have a way of creeping up

It used to seem that birthdays passed slowly. As a kid it took forever for your birthday to come around and that day was much anticipated. Sometime in my 20s I noticed those annual trips around the sun seemed to be speeding up. Now that I am in my 7th decade the years are flying by, and I am looking for company on this racing train. Now I’ve got some company! Our webmaster (and my brother) turns 70 today…we can hang on to this decade together. Happy Birthday from all of us at Fredericksburg Farms!

Final Exams are Approaching

Back in August when schools started back after summer break it seemed that end of year activities and final exams were eons away. Time will tell as the weather warms and we move on toward summer. We have had some relatively warm days and small amounts...

Bluebonnets this Year?

Bluebonnets this Year?

The ongoing question in the Hill Country is…will it ever rain again, followed up by WILL WE HAVE BLUEBONNETS this year? I was fortunate to see bluebonnets along the roadsides south of San Antonio as I drove back from a trip to Port Aransas. I haven’t seen any around me back at home but I did spot a few growing in some yards in town. With the ongoing drought who knows if we will see a carpet of blue along the roads and in pastures. Getting bluebonnets to germinate is an interesting proposition because their seed coats are of different...
