Graduation
Fredericksburg Farms

Graduations mark endings and new beginnings whether it is a pre-school graduation, high school, or college graduation. All of them are signs of accomplishment on the highway of life. High school graduations hold a special significance because they mark the end of childhood and the beginning of adult decision-making. This transition can be both exciting and scary at the same time. I have a grand nephew graduating from high school on Saturday evening in Katy, TX and I plan to be in the stands of the football stadium cheering loudly and applauding him as he graduates as third in his...
Mother's Day
Fredericksburg Farms

Mother’s Day is coming up on May 11th. All of the mom figures in my own life have Heavenly addresses now, but I will still think of them with love and fondness this Mother’s Day. I was fortunate to have a wonderful supportive mom and a loving step mom to grace my life growing up and then got a bonus mom with my dear mother-in-law when I married. Strong women, all three, who provided great role models for me as I became a mom myself. Many of us also have other “moms” in our lives who have helped us become...
Birthdays have a way of creeping up
Fredericksburg Farms

It used to seem that birthdays passed slowly. As a kid it took forever for your birthday to come around and that day was much anticipated. Sometime in my 20s I noticed those annual trips around the sun seemed to be speeding up. Now that I am in my 7th decade the years are flying by, and I am looking for company on this racing train. Now I’ve got some company! Our webmaster (and my brother) turns 70 today…we can hang on to this decade together. Happy Birthday from all of us at Fredericksburg Farms!
Final Exams are Approaching
Fredericksburg Farms

Back in August when schools started back after summer break it seemed that end of year activities and final exams were eons away. When they went to college, I shipped them stuff. Here at Fredericksburg Farms, we have some ideas to help you let them know you are thinking of them and make those study hours more enjoyable. Order something from us for your...
Easter
Fredericksburg Farms

Easter is approaching this weekend. Christians worldwide will celebrate the resurrection of Jesus with special religious observations. The true meaning of Easter, like Christmas, has somehow gotten lost in commercialization. For me Easter means realizing that we daily have the opportunity to choose eternal life by simply choosing Jesus as our Lord. The Easter tradition of dyeing eggs came into being because the egg is a symbol of new life. As kids dye the eggs, let us all rejoice in a new life with Jesus. Let the world say Hallelujah!
