It seems like there is a day for almost anything, and social media promotes them all from Son’s and Daughter’s days to National Hot Dog Day. While those are fun to mark, others seem more important and more worthy of a remembrance. Veteran’s Day is one of the latter. Veterans are all of those men and women who have served our country in the armed forces, whether in times of war or in times of peace. They answered the call to stand ready to defend our country, some were drafted and others volunteered; all left their homes and jobs to do this duty.
As Veterans Day approaches on November 11, take some initiative and find a veteran you may or may not know and tell them thank you.
