January can sometimes be a letdown after all of the hustle and bustle of December. We have taken all of the ornaments off the Christmas tree at Fredericksburg Farms and have packed away all of our stockings, and holiday decorations ready to come out next December 1. The last of the holiday goodies and treats are going away in the lunchroom which is a good thing for my waistline. Or the bananas you bought for the grandkids only to find out that they no longer eat them, in fact they now “hate them.” Well, don’t despair! Things are in a blur at Fredericksburg Farms…gift baskets are being made and packed for shipping, web orders are being printed and sent to the warehouse for picking and packing, and everything else is being done as fast as possible to make sure we get our customers’ orders out for delivery by Christmas. It is a real team effort by a dedicated group of employees that is like a big family. We are all working to reach the last ship date and then we start inventory, which is our last year-end task. This past Sunday afternoon, our family put up the Christmas tree. It is an older 9 ft tree that is assembled in 3 parts. The bottom section of this tree has had the lights replaced and they actually work. The other 2 sections have lights that do not work so we just add 2 strings of lights and the tree looks fine.
